Career Search Advice



If you are actively looking for a new role, ask yourself the following questions before you begin your search:

  • Why do I want to leave my current role and company?
  • Have I done all I can do to make my current role work?
  • Is there another role within the company I could do that would make me happier?
  • What about my current role do I like?
  • What specific companies do I want to work for and why?
  • How important is salary vs content of role?
  • Where do I see myself in the next three to five years, am I on track to get there, what could I do to make sure I do get there?
  • If you are not actively looking for a new role, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Am I content or complacent in my role?
  • Is my current role pushing me in the direction I want to go in my career?
  • What do I like about my current role?
  • What do I not like about my current role?
  • Is my salary the salary that I should be on comparable to the market?
  • What would make me want to look at a new opportunity?
  • When was the last time I updated my CV?
